He was raised in Raymond on the family farm, graduated from Langdon High School, then served in the United States Army in WWII as a radar operator. He married Inez Lawellin, the love of his life, on January 14, 1944. He was a carpenter and handyman around the house, enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful irises and tomatoes. He loved basketball, playing at Langdon High School, coaching church youth teams, and watching the Wichita State Shockers. Most of all, he loved his family. Harold was preceded in death by Inez, his devoted wife of 68 years, as well as his parents and siblings; Lawrence Mezger, Clara Creed, Carl Mezger, Art Mezger, Ralph Mezger and Minnie Gaston. He is survived by daughter Dee Ann Mezger (George Berlin) of Lawrence; daughter Dena Mezger of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; son David Mezger (Robin Stojanova) of Kansas City, Mo.; grandson David Zanoni (Sarah) of Lee’s Summit, Mo; and great grandsons, Logan and Nolan Zanoni.
