Wayne Mohler Sondergard
January 11, 1928 to September 17, 2016

Wayne was born in McPherson, Kansas to Sidney Lundquist Sondergard and Harriet Gertrude (Mohler) Sondergard. He entered into the Navy immediately following high school and served from 1946 to 1948 as a hospital corpsman. In 1950, he married his love Peggy Joan Logan and they enjoyed a life-long journey of 66 years of unity. Their children are Sidney (Ramona) Sondergard of Madrid, NY; Peter (Teresa) Sondergard of Valley Center, KS; and Paula (David) Hanna of Wichita, Kansas. He was also very proud to have grandchildren Nicholas (Sheena), Tricia, and Clint Sondergard and Valerie Machado (Israel) and Sean Hanna (Michelle), plus the blessing of great-granddaughters Natalie and Emily Machado. Wayne was employed in the chemical industry throughout his life, and enjoyed volunteering through Boy Scouts, his church, Meals On Wheels, and helping low income families with their tax preparation. His hobbies included many leatherwork and woodwork projects, bowling, and he enjoyed mapping out the many roadtrips.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, KS.
